Good Morning David.....

In response to your comment with regards to the RCD's and to City of Toronto Welcome Home Medal (TWHM`s)......

Here are some photos of the three types of TWHM`s, dated 1900 / 1901 / 1902 and a bronze medallion (not a great picture but I will get a better one for you).....

The TWHM`s were of course made for the men who were from Toronto and each one was named with the persons Rank, Name, and Regt. Additional medals were made for sale to the general public..... The majority of the named ones that I have seen are the 1900 followed by the 1902..... I have a 1901 in a group but it is un-named and I am sure that it was added later......

Mike

Good Morning Everyone......

Just found a picture of the Toronto Contingent for the 2nd Canadian Mounted Rifles after their medal presentation by HRH The Duke of York in 1901..... You can see the Toronto Welcome Home Medals that they rec'd at the same time..... All should be the 1900 version.....

There are 45 men in the picture and one up on the veranda.....

Good Morning Everyone......

Now have a photo of the original ribbon that was issued with the Toronto Welcome Home Medal.......

The colours are faded, Khaki, Blue, White, Red, Khaki........

This ribbon was issued with no finishing on the bottom so therefor was subject to fraying and quite often replaced with the QSA ribbon...... I have even seen a 1902 issued version that has the KSA ribbon......
