Just now noted on a favourite on-line auction site a "Borough of Portsmouth silver tribute medal to the Naval Brigade". Item 321889948165. Never actually saw one of these for sale before (excellent illustrations of obverse and two reverse types in "Boer War Tribute Medals" by M.G.Hibbard).
Unfortunately, I don't think my "Terrible" chap would have been given one - as he had been posted to HMS "Redpoll" for China service instead of remaining on HMS "Terrible". However, one of the forum members might find the item of interest.

I've recently acquired a HMS Terrible Medal Group (China, QSA TRIO, Naval LS GC medal) I short the Tribute Medal which indicates SA and China.
