Can any forum member shed some light on the Cape Town Volunteer Rifle Corps Medal.

Don't remember seeing that medal before Adrian but it looks really well struck. They make a fine pair.

City Coins sold one in auction 63, lot 279 (April 2013)

Their example was a commemorative medal with no suspender.

They described it as "Awarded for rifle shooting during the mid-1870’s. A very rare example of Cape Victoria militaria somewhat larger than a typical campaign medal."
