A price like that would certainly make his QSA appear to be a bargain if it were for sale, William Champney was a twenty two year old butcher from Doncaster and a serving member of the Volunteer Force, the 2nd Volunteer Battalion York and Lancaster Regiment, when he decided to offer his services to the Army, he served in South Africa with the 1st Battalion York and Lancaster Regiment from the 16th of March 1901 until the 24th of June the following year, being discharged the same month.

Yes Mike it is up on Ebay again this time at £1175 maybe not such a bargain. It is missing a bit of the enamel as it was when first reported here. William Champney died in Doncaster in 1960 at retired Police Inspector
