TOPIC:

James Morton was born at Scotchman's Lead, Buninyong, Victoria, Australia on the 23 March, 1872. He arrived in South Africa with a wife and child, just prior to the outbreak of the 1899-1902 Boer War. He died at Zandfontein, Witwateisiand, South Africa, aged 35yrs 4mths, on the 28 Jul 1908. He is buried in the Old Braanfontein Cemetery, Johannesburg, South Africa. A reply will be gratefully received.

His death file is in the SA National Archives in Pretoria.
The correct spelling will be Witwatersrand, and Braamfontein. (a suburg just South West of Johannesburg city centre)
