Good Morning Everyone......

During a discussion at the OMRS convention one of the topics was Iron Ration Packages for the Boer War.......

The one on the left is an in-opened original, note the opening ring is broken off, reminds me of the old corned beef cans and it has lived a rough life but the seal has not been broken......

The one on the right is a reproduction that was made up for re-enactment group and I found on ebay..... The labels are correct as I have seen some in perfect condition......

I was going to say that there cannot be many left around but I know of a case of at least 60 un-used and in original wooden case..... They were offered for sale to me over 30 years ago and I did not have the funds to purchase them, wonder where they are now......
