I obtained this little number here, quite a number of years ago, via a table at an Arms Fair. The label said "Boer War period Colonial Defence Force" and it was quite inexpensive.







Fashioned from 35 thou sheet brass, the title appears at one time to have had a gilt (?) wash. The lugs are different to those on the RH badge.
The Colonial Defence Force, according to Stirling, covered quite a variety of small units during the Kitchener period.
If anyone is interested, I can post pics of some other brass titles - and try not to double up on Mike's recent post!
