Hello all;

Does anybody recognise this uniform as being associated with The Second Boer War?

The cap-badge appears to be a bent, gauntleted arm holding an axe mounted on laurel leaves.

Could it be a Pioneer Corps maybe?

Does not look Military to me, maybe some Fraternal Organization or Church Organization..... Mike

Thanks for your response... sadly we're not surprised by your comment about this not being a military uniform!

We are having a real hard time identifying what it is... and our 'link' to the Boer War was admittedly a remote one; although others in this man's place of birth did see service in SA at the time...
