I recently purchased some WW1 and WW2 millitaria. This slouch hat was carefully wrapped up in with some of the WW1 pieces. and I didn't even know it was there when I viewed the items before I purchased them I am some what lost as to its history. It has no chin strap just metal hooks for it on inside and no edging to the brim. It also doesn't have a internal leather head band. The ribon apears to be 6th Dragoon guards and it certainly looks period and everything else I bought was . It also doesn't have a brim fastener on its side, but I have seen them without in pictures taken in India. Can anyone throw some light on it but I do have a sneaky suspicion it might be a prop, even though it was well wrapped for protection..
