In the next JB Military Antiques auction is a belt described, but not pictured, as:

British/Australian Boer War leather ammunition belts (2). Both belts are supple but feature field and age wear, belts measure 90cm and 110cm respectively, without including buckle and strap length. Est: $150 to $200

They've added pictrures - I'm no expert, but the lower one looks like a standard Mounted Infantry pattern, should hold 50 rds; this example is slightly simpler than the usual P1896 bandolier in that there are no 2 x 5-rd flaps (later designs had a 4-rd and a 6-rd flap) only 10-rd flaps. The upper one looks like a saddler-made one, looks like the weight is carried by braces - quite an interesting design.
The past is not dead. In fact, it's not even past.
