I got this nice Boer War Pat. 1888 mk1 type 2 bayonet today. I have tried to identify the unit marking but have failed. I believe it can't be a UDF marking as the bayonet does not have a UDF ownership mark. I does however have a sold out of service mark and a "Condemnation" mark (the two Rs back to back, meaning that the piece of equipment was considered obsolete by the army). There is also what appears to be a clover, which could be a manufacturers mark, although I have never seen such a marking, or a customization bt the original owner.

2nd Bttn Scottish Rifles.
They were at Spioenkop.
The past is not dead. In fact, it's not even past.

Thank you! I did originally think it might have been the Scottish Rifles, but I was not sure.
