Hello Mike,
Tell me please, how were these little badges, (and they are very small), worn, I'm thinking a stetson type hat, like the RCMP, with a leather band, so were they actually attached to the leather band?
Frank.

Really lovely badge, fantastic detail!

Good Morning Frank......

They were worn on the stetson but the leather band was not as wide as the one worn by the RCMP so worn directly on the hat......

The collar badge was smaller than the cap but just by a little..... I have some of the hand made shoulder badges.....

Look below the picture a couple of cap badges for sale.....

Mike

Take a look here......

Mike,
Superb display, you are very lucky indeed to have such a superb group!
Shocked    by the links $700-$1000!!!!!!!!!
But, what price for an important little piece of history, is it to much?
I don't know, but if I did not have one, then I'd be very tempted!
Thanks again Mike, very best regards
Frank.

Mike,
Here is mine, I'm very fond of Strathcona's Horse by the way! I payed a lot of money for this back in the early 1990's, £100  at a time when I did not have much money!

Good Morning Again Frank.....

As far as the Strathcona badges are concerned that is not a bad price.....

I have been collecting Boer War for nearly 40 years now..... I like to put the badges with the medals when I mount them.....

Here is one that I had been searching for, searching for about 30 years and is one of the rarest Canadian BW badges.....

I had only seen 2 others come up for sale in 30 years and they always went for a lot lot more than I could afford......

Then a short while ago 2 came up for sale at the same time, One Officers and One Enlisted both in different locations and both on auction...... I was able to get the Officers cheaper and in better condition than the Enlisted..... I understand that there are only 3 or 4 Enlisted in museums and one other Officers.......

Canadian Garrison Artillery.....

Mike

P.S. It was more that the Strathcona's.....
