I meant to ask you, what has happened to your friend Iain, "Iaindh" in Johannesburg? have not seen him on here for ages, he would like all these posts, hope he is okay, he was telling me he wanted some Natal Carbineers stuff.

By way of coincidence the HPC was given to me by a friend who knew of my badge collecting interest and the crown and backing plate were from a separate swop. I put them together as the HPC was the best fit for the holes in the plate. As you rightly say they were both acquired in South Africa! It seems as if the Irish regts made this a common practice.
