Frank has asked for details of my new avatar which is an Officers' Field cap: 1896
I thought I might show some of my other badges not necessarily from the ABW campaign but I thought they may be of some interest.

The Worcestershire Regt.
The Cloth Helmet Officers' badge 1881-1914
On a black-velvet ground, a silver eight-pointed star.
On the star, in gilt metal, the Garter with Motto. Within the garter, the lion in silver on a black velvet ground.
Below the garter, a scroll in gilt inscribed Firm.
From 1894 the universal scroll was in silver.

The Border Regiment Helmet plate centre 1881 to 1914
A cross similar to that of the Order of the Bath; on the four arms are inscribed eleven battle-honours and superimposed on a laurel wreath.
In the centre a circlet inscribed Arroyo dos Molinos 1881 and in the centre of this a dragon with a scroll above inscribed China.
The lower part of the centre is voided to display a backing of red cloth.
Below the central device is a further scroll inscribed The Border Regt.
All in white-metal.
One of my favourite badges.
