I must admit that I have not used this site for some time, and it seems to have undergone several changes. In particular, there no longer seems to be a general search option on the main parts of the site (although I have just found "search" buried deep within the site - could such a feature be introduced as an option on the Home page?

I have now found the search tabs, but I am still wondering if the "search" option could appear on the Home page?

The search box appears in the top right hand corner of all pages. There is a separate search for the forum which is accessible from the right most tab when viewing any forum information.

The "problem" (albeit very minor) was that the general "Search" option did not appear on the Home or Introduction pages, which are likely to be the ones that a newcomer will first look at. It appeared on other pages, including the Index page, while the "name search" was obvious from the very first page.

On my browsers on PC, Mac and iPad, the search box appears on the top right of every page. Which browser are you using?
