197 GUNNER ARCHIBALD MACKENZIE DAVIDSON: NATAL FIELD ARTILLERY

Recently acquired a QSA to the NFA.

Davidson served with the unit from 30th September 1899 until his discharge on 31st December 1901.
Therefore, he would have been part of the batteries who could do little to impact the Boers as they were woefully outgunned at the beginning of the conflict.

Steve,

A really nice medal to a famous Natal unit.

He also served in the JMR (Cpl 829).

David,
Thank you for taking the time to research and post this extra information for Gunner Davidson. I had found very little to go on!
Cheers Steve

Steve,

In October 1921, aged 43, he travelled from Lagos to Liverpool and described himself as a miner.

The 2 is his class of travel.

This was 3 months before his death so perhaps he was unwell at the time?

Other than a few modern features, he would recognise 114 Oxford Street, Bristol
