Hello Rory,
Another very nice medal, again, the naming is really pleasing in particular, as Adrian points out, he is shown on the roll, sadly, the digitised copies of volume 168 on ancestry have both folio missing and are out of numerical sequence, but, you can view them via the NA's own site, or, like I do, on occasion, use old microfilm copies if you have them in your procession.
Regards Frank

I am not yet in possession of the medals and can thus not verify the naming on the QSA. I can't find a medal roll wherein he appears - can someone please help.

The attached photos are from the auction site.

A vote of thanks to Adrian who spent part of his Sunday afternoon trawling through the rolls on my behalf until he had found Rigg.

Hi Rory
Congratulations with your purchase! If I had remembered to bid on Rigg you may not have got it!!!
You will find another photo of Rigg in Men of the Times (Tvl) p319.
You will also have to look for an example of the Boer War Tribute medal awarded to Rigg by the Incorporated Law Society to add to the group: it was awarded unnamed

Many thanks Henk

I was ever so glad that it remained a "sleeper" until the last! :)

To add to my woes my ADSL line went down 2 minutes before the bidding ended and I was almost up a creek without the proverbial paddle - thankfully all worked out in time.

Would it be possible to e-mail me the page you refer to? I would have no idea on where to find that publication.

As for the Tribute medal.... you never know what might turn up - I have asked the vendor for the details of those who sold the medals to him - possibly it may yet emerge.

Regards

Mr Rigg's and his group along with my very amateurish attempt at mounting.

Many thanks to Adrian, Henk and others for their assistance.
