Attached is a crop of my relatives uniform.
I've been told that the medal nearest the buttons (on the left as you look at the photo) is not a WW1 medal and I wondered if it is a Boer War one.
Can anyone confirm this please?
I've tried to sharpen the photo, but not sure how clear it is, if you need the full photo I can post it.
Many thanks
Michelle

I can't enlarge the photo, but it looks like a thin strip on either side of a thick stripe?

Could it be China 1900?

Hard to tell. Could you post the full photo, Michelle? Can't make out if it's the edge of the ribbon bar or if the ribbon has white edges. If so, then 1902 Coronation Medal could be a possibility.

Michelle,

It is very difficult to say. Can you post an enlarged picture please?

Another approach would be to give his number, rank, name and regiment. We can then try to find what he was entitled to.

Hi David
I have no idea who he is, that's part of the problem.
It is a photo that was in my Grandmother's possession, with my Grandfather's writing on the back of it.
We're trying to find out who this soldier is, so far we know he is a Seaforth in WW1 and he has medals, but one is not a WW1 one.
I'll post the full photo, unadularated so you can see him and maybe zoom in but it's not a good photo.
Any help I am really grateful for though.
Regards
Michelle
