Hi,
I have a QSA medal,for a John Reynolds with Orange Free Satte;Transvaal and Laings Nek.
However,I am seeking my grandfather's medal John Durkin he was wounded at the second attempt to relieve Ladysmith on 21st February 1900.
Please advise any info i.e. Was it normal to mistake medals?

If you would like to offload it I would appreciate a swap or outright purchase. What was the regiment and number?

The swap,I need is John Reynolds (2721) West Yorks to John Durkin (4998)also West Yorks assume there was either a name confusion ,both from Pocklington .Or another family thought is that JD used his mother's maiden name to enlist.
So sorry cannot sell,not allowed.

Oh well can't be helped.

I note from the rolls that Reynolds also qualified for the SA 1901 clasp.

Durkin qualified for the Relief of Ladysmith and Tugela Heights clasp and was returned to Engkand on 31 March 1900
