I just found this on ebay a medal named to:

25406 Tpr H. Roberts (Robert's Horse) 9th Lancers

The photo of the naming is exactly as above and I have never seen this before......

What are your ideas......

That is intriguing.

The seller has supplied some clear picture of the rim and naming. 25406 is Robert's number whilst serving in Robert's Horse. He transferred back to the 9th Lancers in Jan 1900 and this unit was added to the rim at a later date (hence why it is not evenly spaced around the rim). The brackets around Robert's Horse are also a later addition.

Roberts' Horse can be seen on QSAs as Roberts Horse or Roberts' Horse and as here as Robert's Horse. Three variations for one unit. Is that a record?

Definitely different Mike and one that I would hive a wide berth if that wasn't already your intention.

Oh I was not going to go after it but did make an offer on another which was turned down......

It looks very good though and someone who does not know any better will jump on it and think that they have a very special item......
