That's quite a group. His 7 clasps are verified on the Kimberley TG and Damant's Horse rolls.

This medal is ex Henk, I believe?

An example of an Indwe TG QSA which sold on eBay.ie last month

Approximately 137 Medals were awarded to the unit.

QSA (0) (44 L. Cpl. G. E. Catherine. Indwe T.G.)

Gurney Edward Catherine is recorded on medal roll, in comments section "having 'proceeded to Dordrecht when transferred" possibly refers to where medal was sent. Born 1881, had close ties to UK, his wife's name was Catherine, his son Noel was born in England in 1917 (In World War II, son served S.A.S.C., S.A.A.F., R.A.F., East Africa, Abyssinia) . He is recorded as visiting UK in 1937, died in Cape Town South Africa 1942 aged 61.
