Hello, I am new to this group! I collect medals and just within the last year British Victorian era campaign medals plus several other periods to include but not limited to US Civil War, Spanish American war, WWI & II. I recently acquired a 5 bar QSA with 8410 Corpl. A. Henry Highland L.I. impressed on the rim but I am coming up short trying to confirm him as I cannot find him anywhere. I am not that up on researching British medals though. Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks!

Could this be a well made fake? . This Corporal does not seem to exist anywhere. Are these medals faked this well? I fear I am treading into a area of collecting that requires quite a bit of knowledge so not to be taken... :(

Sure does not look like a fake to me......

Checked a couple of HLI that I have and they are the same.....

The regimental number falls within the block given to the 3rd Volunteer Service Company.......

Mike, Thank you for the information it is much appreciated. I just got worried for a minute. I suppose it isn't always easy to track down individuals.

Alex Henry served in South Africa with the 1st Battalion Highland Light Infantry, whilst a member of one of their Volunteer Service Companies, he has five entries in WO100, two for the HLI and a further three for the 1st Scottish Horse, where he served as 37064 and/or 37063 Corporal, WO100/263 actually shows both numbers, but, the former is crossed out on one entry and replaced with the latter, WO127 suggests the former, whist he is clearly shown in WO100/364, he did not receive the KSA, his South Africa 1901 and 1902 clasps appear to have been issued on the 13th of April 1905.
