Good Evening Everyone......

Today I had the opportunity to see some of the ribbon that was to be used on the original proposed Boer War medal......

I have been looking for some of this for years, having seen photos, written description but never held any in my hand until today......

It was attached to a City of Toronto welcome home medal...... This is the second Toronto medal that I have seen with this ribbon......

If anyone has some of this ribbon you could just about ask your own price......

Have attached photo's of the ribbon and the proposed medal......

Was offered a 5 inch piece of this ribbon today, $150.00 but then again it is only money......

That is a lot of money for a piece of ribbon, but I would have done the same thing! You have to feed the addiction, and you are probably the only person with a piece!

Is that ribbon similar to that of the Johannesburg Vrijwiliger Company Medal?

I just wish I could find one of those prototype medals!
