A pity the envelope was not addressed to Gunner D. Williams, NNV! However, the addressee on the envelope, QMS Bartlett, certainly was a man of substance in the Natal Volunteers. The Smith nominal roll has him as "74 Paymaster J.F.Bartlett" and he also served in the Zulu Rebellion, 1906 and was the recipient of the Colonial Auxiliary Forces LSM in 1905. His QSA bore the clasp "Defence of Ladysmith" only. WELL....... it seemed a pity not to put this on as I had the references handy!
Regards
IL.

This summary of the medals to the NNV appeared in the Seaby catalogue, January 1974
