Hello

I have a QSA in a group (QSA, Natal 1906, Trio to SAMR and LSGC to SAMR) to 1597 GW Cooke. It has the Natal, Cape Colony, Orange Free State, Transvaal and South Africa 1901 clasps.

I have found him, using Ancestry, on the Natal Police roll for the Natal clasp. They reference KFS, and I find him on the 2nd KFS roll for South Africa 1901. He also shows up on the KSA roll for the KFS as not being entitled to the KSA and also at that point not entitled to the other state clasps.

So either he served in another unit as well, or there is more KFS service I have not found.

Any ideas?

Cheers
Ryan

Hello Ryan

The Register shows him on the following rolls:

Queen's South Africa : 257/30 - KFS - CC,OFS,T clasps with note medal issued off Natal Police roll
Queen's South Africa : 257/160 - 2KFS - SA01 clasp
Queen's South Africa : 261/124 - NP - Natal clasp

He is entitled to CC,OFS,T,SA01 - the Natal clasp cannot be worn with the CC clasp.
