Have recently come into possession of a QSA medal for a soldier in the SALH. It has 6 clasp "relief of Ladysmith" on it. I know winston Churchill wrote that he rode into Ladysmith with the SALH and I am trying to find out some more details on this. Are there any war diaries for the SALH? Is there a way of finding out which squadron my soldier was part of etc.

Welcome to this forum. A good place to start your quest would be to consult the SALH posting under 'Unit information' on this site. The link is given below.

It might help others to respond if you gave the name, rank and number of the recipient of the medal.
