Morton and Eden are quite precise about the details of the QSA in their July sale but for this medal they omit any information on the naming and they also list 4 clasps but say it is a 3 clasp medal:

Queen’s South Africa, 1899-1902, 3rd type reverse, 3 clasps, Transvaal, Cape Colony, Orange Free State, South Africa 1901 (Lieut. T.E.S. Davies. S.A.M.I.F.); very fine £100-150

Lieutenant Thomas Edward S. Davies, of the South African Mounted Irregular Forces is confirmed on the Medal Roll but his clasp entitlement, other than for ‘South Africa 1901’, remains unclear.

His SA01 clasp is listed on WO100/276p54, issued 11 October 1906. CC and OFS are listed on the SAMIF QSA roll WO100/276p70. Presumably Tr is listed in error? I have contacted M&E.

I heard back from David Kirk of M&E today. He says the QSA to Lt TES Davies is impressed.

City Coins sold the impressed QSA to Lt D J Roberts, New England Mounted Rifles in sale #18. It sold for R18.

In the same sale was the QSA to Captain A E Pettit, Rand Rifles, but the style is not noted. There is a note though directing the reader to Burke's Landed Gentry.
