a Lovely find indeed. I was also keenly following this auction, but it soon went beyond my range. Also there was a Scandinavian Corps ABO auction closing at the same time. Was lucky to win that one and will post a photo of it to the roll.

I saw the ABO to the Scandinavian Corps, but it was from the same vendor and had the same closing time, I was keen to bid on it but got caught up in bidding for Binnie, however as I had blown my budget by that stage I didn't even consider bidding.

Well done on acquiring it, they seldom appear on the market and I look forward to your contribution.

Further on F. BINNIE, is the following point from Lieut-General Sir George White's despatch of 2nd November 1899, where he played a prominent role in providing clean water to the Ladysmith garrison.
