Good Afternoon Everyone......

I would like to pick everyone's brain, promise I will not take much......

I have just received my latest jiffy bag with great joy, which contained the following QSA......

7148 Dr. T. Mortimer, 1st Nthld: Vol: Art: - Cape Cplony, Orange Free State, Transvaal, South Africa 1901

Now here is my question.....

The naming on the medal is two different sizes...... "7148 Dr. T. Mortimer, 1st Nthld:" is in a Tall Thin Variety..... "Vol: Art: is in Short Fat Variety......

The medal does not look as if it has been re-named and I have checked the other Elswick Battery medals that I have and they are all the Tall Thin Variety.....

Does anyone have a medal to this unit with the same problem or should I say quirk.....

I will do my best with pictures.....

Thanks in Advance for your opinion....

Mike

(P.S. - Even though his rank on the medal is Driver his trade was Shoeing Smith)
