His final Liverpool-Boston-Liverpool trip of 1899 and on the Cephalonia sailed on 12th September 1899.

The Captain, W H Pierce, would be awarded the Transport Medal with S. Africa 1899-1902 as Master of the Cephalonia - but it was returned to the mint.

Here is the good old R.M.S. Cephalonia. She did her bit during the war, but was sold to the Chinese Eastern Railway and renamed "Hailor" in 1900.
The 12th September crossing was her very last.

Dr. St. Stephens seems to have gone missing for 6 months, before reappearing as the Ship's Surgeon on the R.M.S. Saxonia on her 22nd May 1900 sailing Liverpool - Boston - Liverpool.

With his father and brother being in gold mining, I'm sure he had some clue of just why he had to take a break from the Boston line.

He was also on the 31st July 1900 Sailing - great to pinpoint just when he was and was not transporting.
