I'm on holiday in the UK and managed to snaffle this quaint group. Robert Wilberforce Myburgh was a South African who served in both the Boer and Great wars as an officer in the Royal Navy. He received the Royal Humane Society certificate for saving a sailor in 1904 and retired as a Captain.

That was the "other" reason for buying the group Frank. I had a good gander at his service record. It highlighted the incident you allude to and more.
