May I ask members' opinions on what would be considered the most desirable Naval Brigade QSA?
Simply based on the actions I’ve read about, I would assume HMS Terrible, although I have no knowledge how rarity and/or casualties, if any, may factor into this.
Also how do Royal Marines QSAs generally compare to Naval Brigade?
Thanks very kindly for your thoughts.

HMS Powerful – Relief of Ladysmith
HMS Doris - Battle of Magersfontein
HMS Terrible – Relief of Ladysmith, Battle of Colenso, Battle of Spion Kop

For what it is worth, I think the most desirable Naval QSAs are those to the Cape Naval Brigade with six or more clasps; Belmont, Modder River, Relief of Kimberley, and so on. The current asking price for examples seems to support that idea. Not to say that a long group including a QSA with clasps TH and RofL to HMS Terrible is any the less valued by yours truly.

I agree with Ian. As to Royal Marines - in action at Graspan is probably the most desired.

Thanks very much gents!
Cape Naval Brigade must be exceedingly rare....absolutely none listed in the DNW archives.
And I can see why the action at Graspan is highly desired.!

In the next DNW auction.
Estimate a mere £15,000 - £20,000!

The excessively rare Boer War C.S.C. pair awarded to Midshipman T. F. J. Livesey-Wardle, Royal Navy, for his gallantry at the Battle of Graspan, near Belmont, on 25 November 1900 - Wardle’s C.S.C. was one of only 8 ever awarded
