He served as a Yeomanry Trooper in the Boer War. This is the information I've found on him. But it says that he didn't serve him South Africa, can anyone tell me any more about this? Thanks

Welcome to the forum. My normally accurate CD listing the IY during the South African war does show "36834 Tpr. William Charles Murphy as "Trooper Imperial Yeomanry". He may have been sent home medically unfit before he was posted to a unit or arrived in the final days of the campaign. Looks like a medal roll check may be needed?

Yes that was me. I'm no nearer to understanding about him!

I cannot find him on the rolls. He appears to have a paper in WO128 so it is unusual there is no QSA entry evident.
