The Peninsula Horse only existed for 3 months.

The QSA medal roll runs between pages 122 and 145 in WO100/263. There is one supplementary page. The AG2 block indicates 128 medals issued either to GOC (124) or to the home address (4). No clasp medals were issued. Taking into account medals issued from other rolls and returns, I think there are 21 QSAs named to Peninsula Horse.

Last month Spink sold QSA (1) CC to 1295 Pte P Coakley. His medal was initially returned and then reissued 30 March 1911 to 2 Morris Court, Orchard Lane, Southampton. It is presumed the CC clasp was a later addition as no authority can be found. Unusually for men in the Peninsula Horse, Coakley appears not to have served elsewhere.

City Coins #18 sold the QSA (0) to 1290 Pte G Earley [sic]. His name is 'Early' on the roll and his medal was also issued in 1911, coincidentally to a Southampton address.

These are the only two QSAs I have noted to the Peninsula Horse. Has anyone seen any others?

QSA (0) (1013 Pte J.W.Ferrey. Peninsula H.) Impressed.

This unit was raised in October 1901 and disbanded three months later in January 1902. Members were entitled to QSA only, no clasps.

Recorded on medal roll for Peninsula Horse as J.W.Ferry (note different spelling to naming on medal).
