This medal has, most decidedly, seen better days but it's an honest medal named to a man who, as a Dutch-speaking farmer in the Eastern Cape, would have been under pressure to join the Cape Rebels and fight with the Boers.

The Wodehouse Yeomanry (Dordrecht area) were a motley crew and medals to them, irrespective of condition, are hard to come by.

Jan Naude was a Farmer who farmed at Montagu Hill in Wodehouse and who passed away from gallstones and other illnesses, on 14 November 1936 at the age of 69.

Rory,

Still a treasurable medal.

On the map, there is a town of Wodehouse in the Sr Marks but it seems the WY came from the district of Wodehouse instead?
