Hi
I've been offered a KSA medal awarded to ;
Trooper Carl Albert Norregaard 1779 Imperial Light Horse.
I noticed there were no clasps re South Africa 1901- South Africa1902.
I originaly posted this query on BMF and the replies I recieved say he had no entiltelment to a KSA.
One of the guys sent me a page from an auction catalouge attached.
The seller doesn't know anything about it, I think it might be a house clearance.
The medal and ribbon are in good condition.
Many thanks in advance.
Frank

Frank,

This is unusual. He has two supplementary roll entries, one for SA01 and one for SA01 & SA02. I cannot see a KSA entry.

1779 is the number for a different man, Private Drabble:

He served for 8 months in the ILH so may not have has enough time to gain a KSA. I haven't checked where he first served.

Kind regards
David

The nominal roll suggests one of his numbers was 1779 and that he was only entitled to the date clasps (donated by KCR). The nominal roll does not list any prior service so it look like he only served in the ILH.

He was 3 months short of earning the KSA so perhaps he thought he did deserve one?

Any chance that we can see the naming? I would imagine it is renamed.

Many thanks David for the replies.
When you say renamed, is this something he might have done himself ?
I don't own the medal and with the virus lockdown it may take a few days.
I'll contact the seller and see what can be done.
Regards
Frank
