Tim,

The index for the page for the DrSc nominal roll is not correct. Page 71 of 71 contains the entry for the Js, including J F Jooste.

I have made a note to correct the index document.

Thanks, Just found the J's. On the opposite page there would appear to be another unit against his name but I can't seem to read it, any clues?

Tim,

I think it is Captain Malcolm' Burgher Police

If you search the site for the exact phrase 'Burgher Police', you will find 20 matches.

Burgher Police was another name for the Farmers' Guard: www.angloboerwar.com/unit-information/so...ts/331-farmers-guard

Also, see this post from RobCT: www.angloboerwar.com/forum/2-introductio...farmer-s-guard#76836

As the Burgher Police was only raised in November 1901, he would not have been able to completed 10 months with by the time he joined DrSc in December 1901.

Best wishes
David

There is no record of FJ Jooste being in C Sqd of the CCF. So the mystery of where he served for 10 months prior to his 6 month stint with the Driscoll Scouts remains. Have you every come across an attestation paper such as the one signed by Jooste?
Cheers
