Tim,

I have not been through all of the attestation papers for DrSc but I have seen hand written attestation papers for other South African units.

His prior service could have been on the Boer side?

I have in my collection a lone KSA to 1136 Trooper William Villiers. From the roll I can see he was active from the very start of the Boer War.
1) NAVC 9/12/99-21/2/00
2) imperial Bearer Corps 23/03/00-5/2/01
The a large gap of just over a year
3) Driscoll Scouts 25/03/02- 30/06/02
On the DS roll it does say that he was in the SAC but I can't find any record of him there.
Also It would appear that he is entitled to the QSA I wonder what bars and if any member knows of it's whereabouts.
