I have a QSA KSA pair to an officer in the Canadian Scouts.
The KSA is exceptionally well renamed, issued in 1904/5.
Could this be officially renamed?
Are there records of officially renamed medals
Any comments would be appreciated
Gordon

Hello Gordon...…

Looks like it is an official re-naming to me..... There are a number of the KSA's that were named, issued but returned..... The previous name was removed and a new name inserted and reissued.....

NICHOLSON, WILLIAM A.K., LIEUTENANT / ORIGIN: GREAT BRITAIN / ENLISTED - June 11th 1901 / DICHARGED - April 1902 / PREVIOUS SERVICE WITH - MIDLAND MOUNTED RIFLES, WESTERN PROVINCE MOUNTED RIFLES, RAND RIFLES / QSA WITH - CAPE COLONY, ORANGE FREE STATE, TRANSVAAL, RHODESIA, RELIEF OF MAFELING

Rhodesian Regiment sounds good..... His listing in the Regimental history has him down as RR and in the index it is Rand Rifles, Rhodesian Regiment is listed as RhR…. Could be a typo...…
