I cannot find any Forbes in the EPH other that No 19 Harry Forbes. There are attestation papers for Harry but no other men of this name. The nominal roll only lists Harry Forbes.

Best wishes
David

Good Morning David.......

I had the same problem when I looked him up......

I should have put a coma between the Douglas and Forbes..... His name is Forbes Douglas on the roll and medal......

MIke,

No problem. It looks like one and the same man.

QSA (2) Cape Colony, Orange Free State (175 Tpr: T.W. Wright. Eastn. Prov. Horse).

M&E say Thomas William Wright of Eastern Province Horse is confirmed on the medal roll. He is listed as killed in action 28 May 1900 at Roodeport, in ‘The Boer War Casualty Roll’ by Palmer where he is listed as D. W. Wright, but the correct regimental number is given. On the medal roll it states: ‘Killed at Blaauwbay [sic] N. Lindley ORC 28/5/00.’

QSA and death listed on WO100/247p12.
