Alexander Duff served as a Sergeant with the Southern Rhodesian Volunteers, Western Division Armoured Trains, and was additionally entitled to the ‘Rhodesia’ clasp.

Noonan's state he was also a member of the Rhodesian Coronation Contingent in 1902.
