Hi Adrian
South African Field Force has him recorded as Private 5882 W Hallgaith. Captured at Sannas Post (Korn Spruit) 31st March 1900....later released. Surname spelling and number difference could be down to entry error. Misinterpretation during transcribing records did happen.
I think the Clasps read correct and in order on the ribbon.
Regards
Dave

Adrian,

He is on the medal roll for the 2nd Battalion with the 6 clasps you mention (WO100/194p210). His surname is Hallgarth on the KSA roll (WO100/338p162) which confirms his medal.

There is information on the KOYLI here: www.angloboerwar.com/unit-information/im...shire-light-infantry

There is a W Hallgath who served in the Great War too.

I would agree with Dave on the accuracy of the casualty roll.
Dr David Biggins
