Hi
QSA Roll WO100/216, page 261 is headed "Boy Cyclists". It contains 3 names : Ernest Shanatt, James Salter and James Peters, all three entitled to the clasp "Defence of Ladysmith"
The "Remarks" column adds: "Civilians. Employed by Staff, A.S.C., during Siege of Ladysmith"

James Peters must have been 13 or 14 years old at the time of the Siege : his age is listed as 30 when he got married in March 1916 after returning from service in German SWA with the 3rd Mounted Rifles.
