Hi,
I am interested in medals to S.W.B many of which I collected decades ago and am only now really researching.
I have a S.A pair to 3546 T Morgan who is causing me real problems.
There is man in 2nd Battalion with same name and number but he has S.A.02 clasp while mine does not.
My T has CC OFS and JOH. I made a note years ago that there was another man with same name and number in 3rd Batt but now have no idea how I found this.
Would be very grateful for any help.
Dave

Hi Dave
Welcome to the forum, I have found the medal rolls regarding your man T Morgan 3546.
See enclosed documents.
I couldn't find the other entry you refer to. Is it possible you could share it with the forum?
There are quite a few SWB Morgans to investigate. Some medal rolls had errors and clasps were awarded then recalled or erased and issued at later dates. I couldn't find a entry for a date clasp SA 1902 for 3546. But if its out there you have come to the right place for fellow forum members to help you out.

Best regards

Hi Dave,
Many thanks for your help. Sorry it was just a note I made years ago and I have no idea where it was from. However I also noted down at time trying to pin down his enlistment T Morgan 16/1/91 3rd Batt Merthyr T Morgan 3361 25 /3/1891 3 Batt and 3942 29/3/92. Again no idea about source.
Will have to rip up notes I made about 3rd Batt service in S.A and strat again!
Given his number do you think anyone will have any rough idea about his enlistment date?
Once again many thanks
Dave

Hi Dave,
I wondered if I could push my luck and ask a few more questions.
Just been looking at Atkinson and amazed to see half battalion not fit to go! Over 700 reservists joined. Do you think these would have been 3rd Batt men and explain my original thought or 2nd Batt men?
I noticed T was time expired by 1903. If he was a regular with the 2nd all the time and joined in 1890 was the usual enlistment time at that period 12 years?
