I was just checking a member of the 1st Battalion Leichestershire Regt and could not find him on the roll. Having resorted to my usual trick of finding somebody else in the same regiment and using that as an access to the roll I still did not find my man. Today I resumed my search and noticed that pages are missing from the roll- query answered. Is this a common occurence, is it an error in the Public Records Office or some transcription error on Ancestry?

It is not a common occurrence but we have seen both.

Which page are you missing. I can check the roll downloaded from TNA.

Thanks, the page I am interested is 11 on roll WO 100/177 1st Bn Leichestershire regt. When I say 11 it is the small number in the lower right corner not the page turning mechanism.

Thats exactly the page I was looking for and there is the man I am interested in-the Ancestry roll for this battalion has about 20 or more pages missing
