Many thanks for this and your other previous posts.

I did have the WW1 Pension Index Cards - there are also some Pension Ledgers that accompany them.

Luckily, his 2nd Dragoon Guards number was on some of those cards which meant I could make the link. If that number were not on them, then I don't think I could have made the connection because I'm doubtful any service records survive. But I'll contact the NAM to make enquiries to see whether anything turns up.
