He is listed as part of the 4th Mounted Infantry Contingent by Murray rather than the 3rd Bushmen Contingent.

QSA (3) on WO100/292p134. SA01 on WO100/292p140. Both rolls titled 'Western Australian Imperial Bushmen'.

Hi Dave,

I have gone back and had a read of Murray's for this Contingent and it mentions that this is the fourth mounted infantry regiment raised in Western Australia, but the first contingent of Imperial Bushmen as you have mentioned is on the Medal Roll. I believe that the British Imperial Government for this period has borne all costs for this Contingent. See below -

FOURTH (MOUNTED INFANTRY) CONTINGENT.

By the Western Australian Government Gazette of 16th March, 1900, it was notified that the formation of a fourth Company of Mounted Infantry had been authorized, with an establishment of 7 officers and 125 of other ranks. This was the first Western Australian Contingent of Imperial Bushmen.
