Hello - I have a group of 3 medals awarded to a private in the Yorkshire Regiment . The South Africa medal has 7 clasps , South Africa Belfast, Diamond Hill, Johannesberg, Driefontein, Paardeberg and Relief of Kimberley. However, as part of the Group it also has India General Service medal with Kachin Hills clasp - It appears the Kachin Hills clasp is rare as only 112 were issued to the Yorkshire Regiment. The group also includes a first world war medal - the name on all three medals is H Hasler number 2501 - Could anyone please tell me whether Private Hasler of the Yorkshire Regiment was awarded all the 7 South Africa medal clasps and also of particular interest whether he was awarded the Kachin Hills clasp because it is so rare. Appreciate any information you could provide.

Hello Dave -

Thank you for taking the time to provide such comprehensive information it's very much appreciated - as mentioned in the original post only 112 clasps were issued to the Yorkshire Regiment and only 10 have subsequently come to light so to have a newly discovered one is great.

All the best,

Andy
