Warrior1981,

Your first QSA - excellent!

Private Isaac Parsons served during the Boer War in the 2nd Battalion, RWR. His QSA (5) is listed in WO100/170p79. A note says he served with the 4th Mounted Infantry. He also earned the KSA (2) with the 2nd RWR. This is listed on WO100/320p394.

Prior to the Boer War he served in the Sudan with the 1st RWR, during the Atbara and Khartoum expeditions. His silver medal is listed on WO100/80p564. His Khedive Sudan with clasps The Atbara and Khartoum is listed on WO100/80p661.

There are service papers for him. He was born in 1873 in Handsworth, Birmingham.

Hello Warrior 1981
Welcome to the forum. Congratulations on your 1st QSA.
If you have access to Ancestry or FMP you will be able to research your man Issac Parsons. His service papers are available, however depending on subscription sometimes the details may not be accessible. However, on this occasion I have attached them for you. Plenty of clues on the records for you to build on....

Dave.....

PS....Attestation Papers record christian name Issac Parsons.
His medal rolls on Ancestry record the initial as J Parsons Regimental number 3152 on both sets of documents.
You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough.
Best regards,
Dave
