TOPIC:

A recent purchase was this pair to Capt. Frederic Whitworth-Jones - illegitimate son (his parents later married) of an opera singer and friend of Charles Dickens, WJ was in South Africa where he was connected in some way to the Cape Government Railways before the Boer War. Back in England he became an important official in the world of sports as the Secretary of the British Olympic Committee.

I append the link to where his group appeared previously on this Forum - this time round the miniatures were not with the pair when I acquired them.
